Empowerment

When I was asked to be on the board of the empowerment academy of Owensboro, Kentucky, I really had no idea what I was getting into, but readily agreed to help because it was all about the kids! I ended up replacing a tremendous leader as board chair shortly after because he empowered me with his wisdom and confidence. This week was so special to be present at their open house, and see what all the time and effort that many of us put into this project has resulted in. Almost 40 homeless high school students will soon have a place to lay their head with the safety and security of an amazing state-of-the-art facility that offers a feeling of. "Home" and hope for a better future. My heart is bursting with pride at what has been accomplished by a few faithful people who would never give up on the vision and never back down from the obstacles. Congratulations on a job well done everyone! It was truly a labor of love, even though there's more yet to accomplish., Including raising a lot more money to finish the interior. I'm blessed to have worked hand-in-hand, side-by-side, and heart to heart with some of the most compassionate people I've ever met my life❤️ OBKY will forever hold a special place in my heart and empower me to spread their spirit of generosity to my new community in NC. What empowers you & how could you empower others?
